Information

The most valuable monument in Blizne is wooden Church of All Saints from the middle of 15th century. Church was built in the Late Gothic style, of stromal construction, on a stone foundation. In 17th century was surrounded by defensive ramparts. Interior is the most interesting part of the church, mostly its precious polychromy painted from 16th to 18th century. On a side altar miraculous wooden sculpture of the Blessed Virgin Mary Full of Grace made around 1500. The sculpture was originally part of an altar triptych, removed in 17th century. On a new altar we can admire painting of the Annunciation and mentioned sculpture. Near the church there is located an old wooden presbytery (built before 1699), where opened interesting parish museum with valuable exhibits from the church and manu titled Willa Blizne Episcopalis Visitatia 1745. In the presbytery area there is a wooden, thatched roof farm building with coach-house in its northern part. Other wooden buildings in the neighbourhood are: hospital for the poor built in the middle of 19th century and a parish school from 1866.
